Ipe Cortez negro | Ipe | Tabebuia impetiginosa, | Native to Costa Rica and distributed from Mexico to Northern Argentina. Its showy pink flowers during the dry season are spectacular. The wood has long been highly valued for years,  known in the trade as "brazilwood". Although difficult to work with it is strong, dense, and insect resistant.
